Talking Tax

Our follow-up tax event to the one held in 2006 was a resounding success with more than 50 participants this year! Even with a bigger venue in the Colonial Room, the luncheon was full to the brim. Ernie, from Trowbridge Professional, was, as ever, informative and insightful and was able to give many attendees helpful advice on their tax questions.

There’s a Rat in my Chi!" Feng Shui Predictions for the Year of the Rat

To help welcome in the Year of the Rat, CanCham and the Canadian Association of Singapore jointly hosted a relaxing coffee morning with Feng Shui expert, Khaw Wei Kang, who spoke at last year’s Financial Predictions luncheon. Attendees were treated to a flashback of the Year of the Rat followed by details on what this year holds for each sign. Mr Khaw was engaging as always and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The Interport Executive Movers' Inter-Chamber and Association Annual Bowling Challenge 2008 proved to be a great follow-on success from last year.  With teams and players once again representing the Canadian pillars - the Canadian Association Singapore, the Canadian International School, the Canadian Alumni, as well as the High Commission (in the form of High Commissioner, Alan Virtue ), plus familiar faces  from Manulife , Ipac and sponsors Interport , the friendly rivalry created an atmosphere buzzing with excitement. The qualifying rounds proved even tougher this year with CanCham's very own President, Marlene Han scoring 4 strikes in a row! As with the previous rounds the final was unnervingly close but in the end our very own CanCham team, President's Choice managed to keep hold of our championship title! Many thanks go out to Interport for their continuing generous support to the Chamber.
