Canada Day at the Races

There were many winners at the Canada Day at the Races held at the Singapore Turf Club on Friday January 16.  For the first time, this event was jointly organized by the Canadian 5 Pillars in Singapore with the Canadian Chamber taking a lead role in managing the event.  The evening was an enormous success with over 240 guests attending the fun-filled night, in the company of the High Commissioner of Canada, Mr David Sevigny, Chairman of the Turf Club/Canadian Alumni Association/StarHub Mr Tan Guong Ching, Tunku Dato Seri Shahabuddin and members of the Singapore Turf Club Committee.

Brian Tracey warmly welcomed everyone and was our entertaining host and Master of Ceremonies for the evening. With a delicious buffet dinner and free flow of wine, guests enjoyed an unforgettable night with more than a few lucky punters!! In particular the BlackBerry Cup, GSM Cup and Canada Cup were very popular races and our gratitude goes out to the corporate sponsors BlackBerry and GSM who made this all possible!! Thanks must also go to our other kind supporters, Walton International, Scotiabank as well as CornerStone and U Say Marketing for providing the wines and Canadian apples.
