Join us for this fireside chat with Justin Chow, Head of Singapore for Cumberland - a DRW company, as he shares a macro perspective on how Cumberland foresees this very complex and somewhat unknown sector to be heading. Pavel Bains, CEO of Bluzelle, will explain the difference between utility coins and security tokens and why products like Bluzelle require a coin. This dialogue will be moderated by Franca Ciambella, Managing Director of Consilium Law Corporation, who will share some updates on the regulatory framework.

Justin Chow is the Head of Singapore for Cumberland - a DRW Company, one of the world's largest liquidity providers in cryptoassets. After joining DRW in 2015 as a global macro proprietary trader, he transferred internally and is now focused on helping the Cumberland team expand and grow its business in Asia. Prior to DRW, Justin was a global macro trader at hedge fund Citadel, where he specialized in trading and managing portfolios of foreign exchange and liquid futures. Justin started his career as a distressed debt and securities analyst within the hedge fund industry.

Pavel is the CEO of Bluzelle, a decentralized database that solves the security, integrity, reliability issues facing data management. Pavel often speaks on panels and conferences about where digital media, finance and technology are heading. Pavel also is a contributing writer to Fast Company, Venture Beat, Forbes and The Huffington Post. Pavel was the co-founder of Storypanda, a digital book platform that empowered kids to read, create and share books. Storypanda published critically acclaimed titles by the world's best independant authors and media brands. Storypanda had licensing deals with DreamWorks, Warner Bros, CBC, MGA, Peanuts and many more. Storypanda's mandate was turning kids from content consumers to content creators.
Through Storypanda, Pavel became a part of 500 Startups, the world's leading early-stage startup accelerator and VC. Based in Silicon Valley, 500 Startups now has a presence in all major regions of the globe and is repsonisble for investing into and inspiring the next wave of entrepreneurs. Prior to Storypanda, Pavel was in GM and CFO roles for video game studios, including leading multplayer independant developer, Threewave Software and Disney Interactive Studios. At Threewave, Pavel was involved in the production of AAA titles from EA, Activision and Atari. At Disney, Pavel was the Financial Manager for seven studios, overseeing budgets of $150M.
Franca Ciambella

Trained in law and business in Canada, New York and Singapore, Franca has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1990, and in 2010, was one of the first foreign lawyers to gain full admission to the Singapore Bar. Her legal career of over 25 years encompasses 16 years of private practice including being the Managing Partner of the Singapore office of Stikeman Elliott and a Legal Associate at Norton Rose, seven years as General Counsel for Asia Pacific for Tyco International Ltd.(a US based Fortune 500 corporation), acting as a technical advisor on regional economic integration to high levels of government in ASEAN, carrying on a mediation practice and since 2010, being the Managing Director of the Singapore based international law firm of Consilium Law Corporation (“CLC”). CLC represents clients doing business in emerging economies, including in south-east Asia and Africa, as well as in Canada, in diverse sectors.
Franca’s subject areas of legal expertise are in corporate and commercial law, contracts, technology law and fintech, cross border M & A, foreign investment law and international trade with a focus on Canada, ASEAN and West Africa. Currently she is focusing on a number of technology projects and cutting edge, multi-jurisdictional legal practice in the area of cryptocurrency and ICOs. She also assists clients in creating compliance programs, including anti-bribery, and trade compliance. Franca is accredited as a mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and with the ADR Group in London, UK, and acts as a mediator in various areas including cross border family law disputes.
