Virtual Canada Day 2020!

CanCham Singapore in partnership with the Pillars of Canada in Singapore (High Commission of Canada in Singapore, Canadian Association of Singapore, Canadian Alumni Network Singapore and the Canadian Dragons Singapore) hosted its first ever Virtual Canada Day event! It was a smashing success with over 100 participants joining us throughout the evening. The event kicked off with a Kid's quiz, hosted by Dave Millard, for kids 9 and under and another for kids 10+. THANK YOU DAVE! The first and second prize winners were gifted with a backpack sponsored by Hershel Supply. We were excited to have special guest, H.E. Lynn McDonald, High Commissioner of Canada to Singapore, deliver remarks on this special occasion, as well as a celebratory toast! As you can see by the Canadian inspired backgrounds and outfits, we were blown away by the amount of enthusiasm and energy shown by all participants, including Happy the dog! We would like to thank Krystal Roberts for providing us with a "Delicious Dill Pickle Canadian Caesar" Mixology Class, at the beginning of our Happy Hour Session! There were many people scouring the city for Clamato juice and only very few succeeded! Next, our wonderful quiz masters, Chris Beingessner and Phil Meehan, led many teams through a 5 round Quiz Night, ultimately won by the "Queen's City" team! Congratulations!! They were treated to prizes sponsored by Hershel Supply. Shout out to Eric Lee, Team Manager, Canadian Dragons Singapore, who led us in a half time stretch to get our blood flowing again. We would like to thank Toby and Chantel, from the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, for being star auctioneers at one of the most anticipated events of the evening - The Live Auction!
